The village owes its name to a holy woman, Osia Anna, who burst a convent.

Siana is reached (Σιάνα) after passing through wild landscapes and grassy hills with scents of sage, Siana is located near Mount Akramitis 69 km from Rhodes .
The church contains many restored frescoes of the eighteenth century.
Siana is known for the honey and "souma" (a strong liquor made from grapes) that can be tasted in the "kafeneia" and is also known for handmade embroideries.
