Presentation

General
The Byzantine monastery of the Virgin of Skiadi, now disused, was founded around Messanagros in the Byzantine era, but restored in the eighteenth century. The church contains some frescoes and numerous ex-votos.

The long building with right angles that closes the courtyard housed the monks’ cells.

Location

Skiadi is 104 km from Rhodes and 3 km inland (between Apollakkia and Kattavia ).
