The village of Guinate only a handful of white houses; a little away is the pretty little church of Our Lady of Lourdes (Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes). A pilgrimage takes place Guinate the first Sunday after February 11 (feast of Our Lady of Lourdes).
If we continue the road to Guinate is achieved viewpoint, located on the cliff of Risco de Famara. The Mirador de Guinate is located 350 m above sea level and dominates the northeast coast of Lanzarote.
The viewpoint offers magnificent views to the west of the island of La Graciosa and the whole of the archipelago Chinijo, and to the south, on the heights of La Montaña Quemada (Burnt Mountain) of Máguez (562 m) and Los Helechos (581 m); down we can admire the narrow coastal strip.
Access to the Mirador de Guinate is free and offers similar views to those that we have from the Mirador del Río, located 4 km to the north; it has a small parking lot.
Proponents of hang gliding and paragliding use the mirador as a launch base.
Between the village and the viewpoint you pass a wildlife park, the Parque Tropical de Guinate or Guinate Tropical Park since it was created in 1990 by the British, but has changed owners.
