Located 2 km east of São Gonçalo, the “view-point of the pinnacle”, with the flowered pergola, is one from the best points of view on Funchal at the bottom of its bay and on the southern part of the Madeira. Towards the east, one sees with far the silhouettes from the three islands Desertas and the course Garaujau, while in the west, beyond bay, draws up at the horizon the high rock which turns red of Cabo Girão. With the top of Funchal, one distinguishes the pico back Barcelos and the site of Monte.
Capela de Nossa Senhora of the Firns
Close to São Gonçalo, the small vault dedicated to Our Lady of Snows has much seal.
Boa Nova
The white building of the Good news, built with the vestiges of a convent baroque of Funchal, opens by a gate of black lava. The interior surprises as much by the sobriety of the nave as by the richness of the retables of the chorus. The terrace offers a beautiful point of view on Funchal.
