The viewpoint Jardina is a balcony overlooking the valley La Laguna on the island of Tenerife. This valley was named Aguere, which means “lake” by the aboriginal inhabitants of the Canary Islands. At that time most of the plain was flooded during the winter. When summer approached, the lake level lowered, the soil dried up and the grass that fed the flocks of Tacoronte, of Tegueste of Anaga and Güímar, grew.
The viewpoint of Jardina is situated at the edge of the current forest, between the grazing area and the arid zone. A common species in the area is the canary; its melodious song can be heard from the highest branches.
