Račišće is a small port forgotten of less than 500 inhabitants, nested at the bottom of a narrow well sheltered bay of the northern coast of the island of Korčula.
Most inhabitants are sailors with the retirement today.
The village of Račišće was built at the 17th century when inhabitants of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatian coast tried to escape the Turkish invader. They took possession of the grounds, and survived thanks to the culture of olives and vineyards.
