Located at the western south of Guéliz, the district of the Wintering is a sheltering district of the affluent villas and many hotel complexes such as Sofitel, Sheraton, the Golden delicious Tulip Farah to only quote most prestigious.
The lung of the district of the Wintering is the Mohammed VI avenue, which occurred in the past of France, and recently prolonged until joining in south-east the road of Ourika along the ramparts of Agdal. This broad and green avenue shelters imposing it Royal Théâtre, the Palace of the Congresses, as well as the large news parks.
Arranged under the dynasty of Almohades, Ménara is a vast planted garden of olive-trees with approximately 45 min with foot of the place Jamaa El Fna (center of Marrakech). In the middle of this garden, a large basin at the bottom of a house is used as water tank to irrigate the cultures. It is a very peaceful place, away from the tumult of the city. It is thus a place privileged for the walks.
The basin is supplied with water thanks to an old hydraulic system of more than 700 years, which conveys water since the mountains located at 30 km approximately of Marrakech. This basin allows the irrigation of the olive grove.
