General presentationGeneral information
The Palm plantation of Marrakech counts more than 100,000 palm trees, out of approximately 15,000 hectares. The history of the Palm plantation began during the 12th century when the dynasty of Almoravides penetrated in Marrakech. These Berber sovereigns created the palm plantation of Marrakech, with a few kilometers of the city. At that time, certain species of palm trees were venerated, symbol of the life and fruitfulness. The cultures were numerous and the density of trees made it possible to secure heat.
