Sa Coma (in Majorcan) or La Coma (in Catalan) means "valley" (see the "combe" in French). This is a place name coined during the creation of the resort in the 1970s.
Sa Coma has a sandy beach which extends over a length of about 900 meters, with an average width of 60 meters. The beach has been awarded the "Blue Flag" for the quality of its water. Just behind the beach is a promenade that leads to the small station S’Illot.
The Talayot of Na Pol
The talaiot Na Pol lies north-east of the village of Sa Coma.
It has a circular conical talaiot structure whose diameter is 12.5 m at the base. Walls - built in large blocks of stone - have a height of 3.5 meters and 2 meters thick.
