Part of the west end of the National Park Teide belongs to this county. We find, among others, in this part of Las Cañadas, very old copies of cedars that cling to the sides of the mountain and rocks.
Regarding the historical volcanism, we must mention the eruption of the volcano in 1798 Chahorra or Montaña Nueva, known as Las Narices del Teide, "the nostrils of the Teide."
